The Face Trust is a charity that has been set up to fund continuing research and surgical treatment for people with severe facial injuries.

Many of these badly disfigured people seldom leave their homes. They have little or no contact with others and live almost a ‘twilight’ existence, hidden away from the public gaze. Most have endured many operations and no more can be done using traditional techniques.

For some, surgical reconstruction and facial transplantation may be an option and it is to help these people that The Face Trust has been set up.

This website explains the issues surrounding facial transplantation and outlines the latest research. It also shows how you can support this research and care programme and by doing so, help some of the hundreds of thousands of people suffering as a result of facial injury.
